Stardew Valley is the ugliest game, and the fact that every cozy gamer can't stop comparing every other game to it irritates me more and more as time goes on.

I don't enjoy getting upset about something so petty, and I don't think other people should stop enjoying it just because I'm not a fan, but when they're comparing Story of Seasons/Rune Factory games, when those franchises have been around so much longer, and talking about it like Stardew Valley invented the farm genre, it just really gets my goat.

It's so weird - I also find it incredibly ugly but I still love it as a comfort game. I had a lot of visual mods installed back in the day and when I started playing it again, but this time on mobile when the big C hit 2 years ago, it was pretty jarring tbh. But it's still super cozy and feelgood for me? Which is really strange because I usually can't stand playing games that I think are ugly.
