Just want to tag on, the "empathy vampire routine" is a problem in and of itself. The sign that OP needs assistance, imo, isn't that they lack the energy to deal with that (because no one does! That's the point!), but that they've been "targeted" by emotional/empathy vampires in the first place. It's good and healthy for OP to want to protect themselves first--it's on the vampires to find healthier routes for themselves.
