[Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel]

What he did to Fred when? I'm not sure which incident you mean. Presumably not when he's infected by a misogyny demon, as that was the misogyny demon.

I'd say Wesley is less of an obsessive creep than Angel, over the course of the series.

I agree. Although, i didn't actually find Angel that creepy until that episode that showed him pre-Buffy and showed him basically stalking her even younger self. Ew.

And we're supposed to think he's redeemable without working for it, but Spike isn't redeemable even when he actually does the work?

(Anonymous) 2022-09-15 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
But he's working for it?

(Anonymous) 2022-09-15 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Isn't the entire series literally 'Angel working for redemption'?

(Anonymous) 2022-09-16 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
Mostly it's 'Angel mopes a lot while other people tell him he's working for redemption.'

And saves and protects people. And ultimately chooses to forfeit his dream of becoming human to eradicate a great evil.

Him and practically everyone else on the show. Although he definitely mopes about it the most. A+ moper, that one.

Yep, that sounds like Whedon character writing to me. Checks out.

Wait, what? What did he do to Fred? From what I remember Gunn was indirectly and unknowingly responsible for what happens to Fred. I don't recall Wesley being to blame. You can say what he did to Conner, though personally I say it is understandable given what he believed at the time.

I think the OP is misremembering what exactly happened, I'm not sure which incident they're referring to re: Fred (also they call her "Freddy"). I'm curious what they mean too!

And yeah, I agree with you re: Conner.

I never found what he did to Connor to be understandable *or* forgivable. In my mind, he should have done more research AND told Angel and Gunn and Cordelia what was going on and maybe even (in fanfic tradition) taken Connor somewhere safe, like even to Giles, rather than the nonsense he did. Meh.

Joining the others in asking: what did he do to Fred? The only time where he did or attempted to do something to her was because he was under the influence of a powerful half-demon that made all human men become violent mysoginists. And he felt orrible once the spell wear off (the reason he hesitated so much to confess his love to Fred and missed his opportunity) even so Fred (not Freddy) understood it wasn't how he would ever act by himself and didn't think he was in the wrong.

*wore off?

(Anonymous) 2022-09-16 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
Never liked him, and then what he did to Connor pretty much killed him in my eyes.

OP -I forgot he was possessed lmao

(Anonymous) 2022-09-16 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
Totally blanked on that part of the episode. I could only remember him being awful lol.

I don't remember what he did to Connor, but I remember having a crush on him, so again, fuck Wesley lol. And his glasses. Thank you all for bearing with my half coherent secret based off of partial memories, and thank you secret maker!

I didn't like Wesley either. Mostly because of that dreadful love triangle with him, Fred and Gunn, some of it because of what he did to Connor rather than just fucking talking to his friends, and some of it because they kept giving him manpain when Angel does enough of that already. The one time I did like him was when he was keeping Lilah in a cage and justifying it to himself, because that was at least interesting.

(Anonymous) 2022-09-16 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
He didn't keep Lilah in a cage. You're thinking of Justine.
