I'm not sure, but it seems like... on the left is official art, on the right is an unofficial fanart version of the same character only edited to look older. OP thinks that editing images to make characters look older is purity culture(?) and that is bad(?) but finds them hotter older

Oh, I see, thank you. Honestly I hardly registered the difference, but I can see the one on the right has smaller, less kid-like eyes, and more muscle I guess. And I also find that more attractive, but it'd be weird if I didn't since I'm 42.

don't feel bad, I also couldn't tell the difference between the two pictures. now that I looked back at it, I'm still like...the one on the right doesn't look "older" at all, he looks like the same dude with sly/droll eyes. and I've been in anime fandom for 20+ years ffs, you'd think I'd know better.

I mean, when the person doing it proudly says they're doing it because the original design is "child coded" and "pedo," that's not the OP "thinking" they're doing it because of purity culture, that's the artist saying so themselves. I don't think anyone believes all fanart where characters look older than they do officially is purity culture. If the artist doesn't say so I'd just assume it's their art style. But the "not on my watch" text in this secret's image says it's one of the purity culture artists. That's probably not the only thing they had to say about it.
