Anon below

yes, they were wrong about some things. Yes, they are of the current generation and may be "attempting to monetize their brand." That would explain a side eye or three, not the massive hateboner for them and her in particular.

They're both mega wealthy mega privileged people who went on Oprah and complained that they couldn't get by if Harry hadn't been left 10s of millions by his mother... in the midst of a pandemic where hundreds of millions of people were losing all their income, and sometimes their homes. I find it difficult to give a shit about most of their complaints.

I'm not sure a random presumably nobody making a fandomsecret being sick of them is really comparable to the hateboner the British press has for them.

Not to mention that they've complained about loss of income, security protection and titles when... well, they gave those up when they decided to leave. If they're stayed working royals (and the royal family definitely wanted this) then they would've retained those things. But they didn't stay. That's like quitting your job and then being mad that you no longer get paychecks and an employee discount and a company car.

And yet they still got carted around on the tax-payers' dime during their promo tour recently (at least where I live).

Wow, found someone who still thinks the only definition of privilege is how much money and fame you have and systemic issues like racism don't affect you anymore if you have enough of the former.

That's not what ayrt at all, don't strain yourself trying so hard.

she wanted to KILL HERSELF because of the way she was treated but because harry inherited millions and a pandemic happened it's all water under the bridge to you???

(Anonymous) 2022-09-19 09:33 am (UTC)(link)
It's cute but sad that you believe that sobstory.

(Anonymous) 2022-09-19 10:10 am (UTC)(link)
you really are a piece of work

(Anonymous) 2022-09-19 12:13 pm (UTC)(link)
da

You're fucking disgusting.

(Anonymous) 2022-09-19 12:33 pm (UTC)(link)
And you're fucking gullible.

(Anonymous) 2022-09-19 10:30 am (UTC)(link)
da, in the uk that's actually pretty much true

sure racism is a thing over here but the real divide is class, which in practice means money; wealthy london-dwelling labour supporting female asian journalists telling jobless white guys from northern dilapidated ex-mining towns how privileged they are is (part of) why the red wall collapsed

money doesn't make racism go away completely but it certainly increases the distance

the reality is that british people, perhaps understandably, don't want to acknowledge the reality that tabloid hate campaigns are basically the dominant force in british society at this point
