Can someone explain what this secret is about? IDK this series (but am going to look it up, cuz Matt Smith looks A+++ to me in this pic).

It took me a couple reads to parse it, but I think what OP is saying is that people are doubting Matt Smith's casting because he's not conventionally attractive, and OP wishes those people didn't care so much about how he looks because he's actually a really good actor and very suited to the part.

(Personally I have no idea about very suited to the part, but from what I can remember seeing of him, Matt Smith is a great actor so I would have no reason to doubt his ability.)

On the other hand I don’t think either of Rhaenyra’s actors is pretty. Kind of a letdown since I thought Daenerys was hot. So shallow of me.

He's not conventionally attractive?? What happened with the hordes of fans fawning over him when he was the doctor?? I'm not being confrontational here, I'm just genuinely baffled at him not being considered attractive anymore.

He's always been funny-looking and I don't mean that in a derogatory way - he absolutely used that to his advantage as the Doctor. He was the first time I saw a Doctor played by someone younger than me so I was kind of dreading it, but he sold "thousands of years old and cranky about it" extremely well. I think he's an excellent actor and has a great face, but that doesn't necessarily mean "conventionally attractive".

... I think that's more a vocal minority of fans who are attracted to whoever plays the Doctor, and not so much the majority of even Doctor Who fans (much less casual viewers) who think Matt Smith is conventionally attractive.
