A staple rule of anime is that age doesn't matter. This girl is the MC's coworker or something and an audience insert right? Then she's 15 because the lowest target audience age is 15 and no other reason, for all intents and purposes she could be an adult, the older audience members have forgotten her canon age and made it their own because they're not obsessed with canon ages like Western modern fandom, and characters will treat her like one because that's the convention of that type of anime. Putting it on the MC as a character flaw for trusting a "kid" holds no water.

Oh for sure she's the stand in for the youngest target age, but she's also in her school uniform enough times/the characters get called out for spending time together because it looks a certain way for her to be coming and going from a man's apartment. That the other characters all more or less look like older teenagers with exception of two of them I think fits the purpose you're talking about more/the usual anime tropes (as does she, obviously). But either way. She just annoys me lol (I think it's really the character type) and I'm wondering if she's going to get super powers or her being human will give her an unexpected edge.
