As much as I'm annoyed by his fans, I completely agree. He was essentially set up as the new Grand Moff Tarkin, ffs! And Farm in would never have been treated as such a joke.

Especially since they actually had a pretty interesting backstory for him. Not that any of that would have mattered in the main movies where, as secondary villains go, it's all pretty flat and one-note and the characters exist to be eventually killed off. But anything they had going for the character and which could have been used in tie-in media got killed dead with how he was turned into a joke.
