I hated this plot and it ruined Robby, Johnny, and Carmen’s characters, never mind the whole having a baby with a violent alcoholic?!?

At this point I can’t see how they’re going to fix it. It’s such a shame because I loved seasons 1-4.

Yup, this is the new tar season.

I lived in Alaska as a kid.

And it's so weird I'm not sure any show can capture it. (Some are similar to other places with really cold weather, but Alaska does seem to have it dialed up a notch.)

A lot of the bush pilots are... eccentric.
The moose are crazy.
Polar bears are fucking huge.
The safety films they show in school are no joke - seriously traumatizing.
The cold in winter is terrible, but the fact that it's dark so much makes it worse.
Summers are so odd because you really do start to lose track of all time when it's light out all the time.
The mosquitos are awful (there's a lot of standing water when the snow melts).
I would rather fall on concrete than a pond or water hole that's completely frozen through.
At some point in the winter, if you have a car, you are going to slide right through an intersection and there's not a Goddamn thing you can do about it.
In the winter, you need a cooler to put groceries in to keep them from freezing - milk is weird when it's been frozen and thawed.
Somebody is going to put their tongue on something metal outside in the cold and get stuck at some point. Also, guaranteed one or both of your mittens are coming off because they're stuck to something metal at some point.
Car exhaust is weirdly pretty when it freezes.
The snow-plowers will sometimes leave two-story tall snow piles that are truly awesome to play in.
Picking wild blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries just beyond your yard is kind of cool, even if you're not a big fan of berries.

I really liked this album, and agree with your secret in general. I'm hoping this gets more places to play some good house music and I'm not on YouTube playing old mixes from back in the days. I'm glad these artists will hopefully have their moment again/appreciate her paying homage to them, the music, the ballroom scene, everybody in it, etc.

Omg, I read about that scene and thought the show probably isn’t for me because of it. I didn’t see it, so I can’t judge either way whether the scene was “justified” or handled the material well, but it sounds like it would be really painful for me to watch and ruin my enjoyment of the show for me personally. I’m sorry it was so rough for you, OP. Hope you’ve been feeling a bit better since submitting this.
