It's not though. Thought-policing and sex negativity (and telling grown women to stop having fun and take care of the kids they should have) are inherently right-wing actions. They're completely in line with every core conservative ideal, but believe themselves to be leftists because they're young and LGBT+ (but not queer, that's a slurrrrrrrrrrrruuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhh!!!11!!)

America specifically has been fed this super idealist version of leftism where everyone is happy and nothing bad happens ever. I've been researching far-left governments for a long time now and they typically share much of the same violence and conflict as far-right governments have.

The issue is, once you say this, you get all sorts of self-proclaimed leftists who shout "but that wasn't/isn't REAL leftism", and we're straight back at the No True Scotsman argument.

I get it, once you choose an ideology, it's unpleasant to address that the thing you chose isn't flawless and perfect, but pretending that the less savoury parts (and members) of it don't exist and don't REALLY belong to it doesn't actually make it go away.

People also need to understand that politics and personal character are very closely intertwined with one another. The policies that politicians make aren't based completely on logical research and historical evidence; they are also effected by simple emotions. Politicians are human beings too, and human beings are flawed, emotional creatures.

There is good and bad in every single political ideology, whether left or right. Acknowledging the flaws of your belief doesn't make your belief 100% bad or make you look stupid; it's simply part of the process of learning.

People need to realize that the political view spectrum is so much more complicated than just a line from far-left to far-right. It's entirely possible to be a hip LGBTeen and also be vehemently bigoted; I've seen plenty of LGBT people online calling themselves neo-Nazis.

I've also noticed the sexism among young teen fans towards adult female fans. Usually stuff like "ugh stop writing shit like this and go take care of your kids." when they see an adult fan write something they don't like.
