Agree. I posted above, and it's the nuance it doesn't get (which maybe eventually it will get better). But this is not going to eliminate artists or art. As an artist (though not a professional/my work is not being sold or in galleries etc.), this is part of who I am. And all the artists I've met -- like none of us is doing this for money. It's what's inside us (as cheesy as it sounds). And for all of the fears of automation, which in some fields of work it's already there/been there, there is something to be said (and imo, needed) about the human element. And like any other piece of technology or AI or algorithms, it will always carry the biases of the people who created it. Which is why your point of how telling the style is, is interesting.

Also, we create so many different styles and have so many different techniques and so on...anyhow. i realize I'm speaking more about art, as it is rather than art in a commercial setting (concept art, for example, or an illustrator being called up for an as job). Yes, for businesses, $$ moves things, but I agree it will be a while before the AI becomes nuances enough to truly generate images they will want to use vs human understanding. Like companies hire people to use their creativity, imagination, and understanding -- some of which is based on past experiences. If the AI is plagiarizing, as in rendering new images from information already available, it is drawing from a well. This is not from the particular experiences, skills, or talent of a person. I don't know. I admit I don't have enough expertise on these matters, but... it's not the same.

That said, if in the next 20 years we reach that point, I hope the people will put their money where their mouth is, and support companies who still use people.
