I haven't taken an actual bath or shower in about 4 months.

I stopped bothering during the Covid lockdowns, and found just using deodorant works fine on any smell. I'm just too depressed to fucking bother, it feels like so much effort, and I barely go anywhere except the local store anyway.

Damn, I’m not the only one. Really trying to fight it, but damn is this depressive episode sucking every scrap of energy and motivation out of me.

Yeah, it's like the cleaning comments above. I'm just going to get dirty again anyway... and having bath means I need to clean the bath, and the bath towels. Eh. It's more important that I made the effort of brushing my teeth.

honestly I feel this-- it's a combination of depression and physical disability both increasing (not to mention barely leaving the house because my health is vulnerable) and my home bathroom's horrendously inaccessible design. I was able to get a shower when I had to travel and stay in a hotel a couple months ago but outside of that it's been a pandemic of sponge baths at best. which, like... of course I feel disgusting but until I can live someplace with an accessible shower, it is what it is.

at least when other people were still masking, I could feel like that provided a scent barrier.

....Yeah, I've probably taken maybe eight showers over the last three years.
