As someone who has that meal on the regular when berries are in season, cream, milk, and cheese are protein-loading (and along with the butter, also plenty of fat.) But yeah if you take the dairy out you don't have a meal left. I think part of the point of that 'feast' is that Bombadil is vegetarian - he and Goldberry don't kill. (Those are even all plant foods that don't kill the plants.)

If the main symptom of your lactose intolerance is farts though, I can't imagine that Tom Bombadil's house wouldn't be full of joyful farts anyway. It goes with the aesthetic.

Oh, I would totally eat cheese for dinner if my stomach allowed it, I love cheese. But uh... yeah, farts aren't the only symptom of my lactose intolerance, sadly. And mine wouldn't be joyful, LOL.
