Well if you don't read the Witches books in the first place you're in no place to criticize the character. You don't know her.

There are definitely many other elements to Granny Weatherwax besides the ones that OP mentions, but those ones are definitely there.

Thank you! I’m not saying she’s a badly written character. Or even that I don’t see why other people might like her.

She just has traits that irritate me so much I don’t enjoy reading stories that she features in.

Somehow, this still manages to get me flak from some Discworld fans because I don’t appreciate her properly.

I guess “I won’t read any more of the Witches books” would have been more accurate.

I made it through two and a half before finally deciding I was just going to skip the rest.
