Notes:

I've just been deleting a lot of random secrets that are recycling ancient FS memes ("can't unsee these unrelated pictures, would hit random thing, I wish this scene had ended in 'hot non-con sex'") and one person that makes a different secret about a certain actor every week trying to be as wacky as possible.

I agree that it's disappointing when there's an interesting premise and the fic stops before delving into it. Or when the premise and fic is so good that you just want more in general because it's so good, rather than because it feels unfinished.

But acting like there's a magical minimum number of words that needs to be reached for the story to be complete is silly. If a fic can deliver on its premise in 500 words, dragging it out to 2500 doesn't make it better. It probably makes it worse, let's be honest.

DA.

I'll never forget reading a highly recced fic in one of my fandoms, that was a boring slog of 10k words of internal diatribe and waffling that could have been chopped down to 3k words without loosing anything. Sometimes more really isn't better.
