I've just been deleting a lot of random secrets that are recycling ancient FS memes ("can't unsee these unrelated pictures, would hit random thing, I wish this scene had ended in 'hot non-con sex'") and one person that makes a different secret about a certain actor every week trying to be as wacky as possible.

And I think most fics over 100k are full of padding and would benefit greatly from editing.

A writer who can tell a strong story in fewer words deserves respect because that's an important skill. It will help you when you write longer works too.

Short stories and novels are both valid. Not everything needs to be novel-length.

OMG yes! I love both short and long fics, but I'm wary of the extremely long ones tbh.

This! I have a random friend who wrote a fic that clocked in at over 100.000 words. And then she went back and edited and added to it.

So much unnecessary purple prose D:
