Yes you should have put that in the secret. You drawing comparisons between other older women you know and Granny Weatherwax does your argument no favours. If you dislike the aspect of her character where she's a know it all then just say that. It's her biggest flaw, the one that plays off in the most satisfying way with Nanny Ogg and Magrat, especially because when it comes to the big world ending stuff she is, in fact, always right. But not liking that aspect is fine. What you have done is attempt to draw up some arch stereotype of old women and use that to criticise a character.

It’s really not a stereotype I have about older women. Once again, nowhere did I say that older women are all like that or even have a general tendency to be like that. I’m well aware that being a critical self-certain know-it-all isn’t limited by age or gender.

I’m also not sure what “argument” you think I’m making. It’s a secret about my personal feelings. When I read about Granny Weatherwax, I am strongly reminded of certain bad personal experiences. This makes me hate the experience of reading about her.

Is that what I needed to say here? That I don’t hate her, just the experience of reading about her? Or leave out the fact that the people she reminds me of happen to also be older women? Would it have been better if I specifically mentioned that she reminds me of my grandmother and her friends?

I wouldn’t bother, ayrt is just determined to be loud and wrong about this secret by trying to spin it into an attack on older women.
