I don't know why people find forming a D&D party so hard: "You all meet in an inn, where you were too drunk to avoid the press gang sent out by the king after the last group of adventurers ended up... Well that isn't important right now, those poor sons of bi... Anyway, you are a party now and better get on with it. Also, there is treasure too". See, it works for everything. You can replace King with Mayor, or Judge, or Don, or whatever the local authority figure happens to be.
