The times I've seen that dismissal used, the person being dismissed was reading it pretty damn shallowly. Yeah it's easy to see the themes, but some people are just that dense.

I've seen it used for every single secret here that was anti-Watchmen.

To be fair, some of them were exceptionally dense, but still.

That may be true -- but it seems to me that the ones that aren't stupid (aka, the ones that said, "everyone loves this movie but I just can't get into it" the bulk of responses have been pretty positive, "It's not for everyone," rather than "You are a retard for not liking it."
