Oh come on, OP's attitude about censorship is messed up but we can hate on it as it is without pretending OP's reason is due to something against "icky gays" instead of what they said which is that they don't like these particular characters and their particular romance. See, this is what fandom means when we say there's no nuance anymore. If someone has one bad opinion, they must have all the bad opinions and the worst reasons for having those opinions.

Yeah, kinda this. Like, I'm pretty sure someone who has something against the "icky gay" wouldn't read a BL novel in the first place (and one of the more spicy at that) which it sounds like the OP did. And as much as I disagree with their assessment of the main couple, it's their right to dislike them. But saying anything about the really restrictive and destructive censorship in Chinese media having any sort of "positive" side effects is a major shit take and that's quite enough to make OP an asshole, no need to insinuate they're homophobic as well.
