My mom showed me this movie when I was around 15 and didn't tell me it was going to be a romance. I thought it was just about an intergenerational friendship and it was a huge surprise to me when they had sex. I was like "Wait, where did that come from?!" But now that antis exist I'm really glad my response only went as far as thinking it was weird but deciding there wasn't anything wrong with it, instead of being a whiny baby about it.
