Re: Lesser-known horror movies

I'm not a horror buff by any means, but I'm pretty sure Pontypool and Cold Skin are both lesser-known. I have one or two gripes with Pontypool but overall I thought it was a compelling and unique take on a zombie outbreak movie.

I seem to be in the minority in having liked Cold Skin; both its critical and audience score on Rotten Tomatoes are sub-60%. IDK, it worked for me as, like, an Early Modernism literary pastiche? I don't really think the plot progression is overly surprising, and if you watch the trailer then it's really not, so I don't think it's spoiling much to describe it as, like, elements of Ex Machina, Heart Of Darkness, and general Lovecraftian fishiness, in a blender, if maybe lacking a bit of bite.
