Re: Halloween recs that are mild on scares?

If I like the first one I promise to also watch the second one! I've always felt like The Addams Family might not be my scene. I don't really like camp, and bodily violation stuff makes me grimace (even when it's played as funny). And I get the general sense that the Addams Family movies have a fair bit of both. Which I guess is why I've always put them on the back burner.

But I assume they're cult classics for a reason, so I really should give them a chance. :)

I did read some very inventive Johnlock fanfic once, in which John was Morticia's nephew and had inherited all the familial oddities, but had been brought up to hide them and always act normal. It was pretty well done. IIRC Wednesday comes to visit him at one point, and Sherlock finds her very fascinating.
