Celebrate victories

If a jockey ever gives you an "inside tip" on a 300/1 horse that just did amazing in training and is looking super frisky, then for the love of god, actually take it. I did. I am going on holiday somewhere nice for the first time next year based on that one. Thanks, wee man. I needed that. I've been sitting on this one for a while, 'cause I didn't want to even slightly risk someone figuring out the horse or jockey and get him in trouble.

I feel you, Nonny. I have to avoid the news media as much as possible, because it gives me such anxiety attacks, oh god. Doesn't help I've been having panic attacks all week, due to having to deal with complicated stupid fucking international legal issues. Aaaaaargh. I keep bursting into tears from general meltdown.

Tired of greedy cruel assholes doing whatever they want, with no consideration for anyone or anything, and then having the gall to come up with bunker plans to shield themselves from the consequences of their actions while the rest of us burn. I'm tired of this shit, they should be the ones suffering, stripped of all their power, freedom, money and possessions, bound to the hell they're sentencing us to. It's what they deserve.

I feel you. Things are getting bad in my country, and we have an election coming up that will likely be a turning point in our history in whether we can salvage the system and make things better, or whether things are going to get worse fast. I am hoping that my people will choose the correct path, but enough people believe the alt-right's lies that I'm very scared.

What will you do if you become a ghost?

Inspired by #5 - if you find yourself stuck haunting somewhere after you die, how will you amuse yourself? Would you try to seriously communicate, or have fun freaking people out?

And, if you can choose where to haunt, where would you pick? (But, it has to be somewhere you've been in your life - otherwise I'd haunt the White House, and harass and terrify politicians.)

When I was a kid I wanted to haunt my school, but it doesn't even exist anymore.

I very much hope I don't become a ghost. It'd fucking suck.

But I guess what I'd do would depend on the people who lived or worked wherever I was stuck haunting. If I liked them, I'd be a nice ghost, if I hated them, I'd scare the shit out of them. Also, it depends whether I can manipulate physical objects. Maybe in the middle of the night, I'd take all their potatoes or onions, and leave them in unexpected places around the house. Yeah, I think I'd choose to be a weirdly random ghost, so I could giggle at them being baffled.

OTOH if I get stuck as a ghost, I might be pretty fucking pissed off and just want to scream a lot.

I'd haunt a library and read over people's shoulders.

If I could impact the physical world in anyway I'd mostly use it for turning pages and sneaking Discworld books into patron's check out stacks.

I guess it would depend on what sort of ghost I am. A school or university could be fun just because the people keep changing. Bonus if I can scare bullies or make life better for nice kids/teachers somehow.

I assume I'd switch between freaking people out for fun and serious communication depending on my mood. The afterlife is a long time if you can't move on, anything will get boring after a while.

I'd definitely keep turning their TV over to something I want to watch, if their taste sucks.

I'd also haunt them with wafts of the scent of weed, and whispers of "Duuude."

I'd mess with people. Flicker lights. Push things around that can possibly be gravity at work but who knows? I'd probably get bored though and go on just looking around and laying about? I wouldn't care to communicate. Again, maybe play a few pranks but that's it.

I'd haunt a library. I wanted to be a librarian when I was a kid. Libraries were my salvation when I was intensely lonely throughout my life. Being surrounded by books would warm my ghostly heart.

I’d want to be able to communicate with the living, either through the people who would have a high supernatural presence to hear and see me, or a ouija board. And just shoot the shit with them. An ouija board wouldn’t be my preference, because getting messages through takes too long.

I’d also just like to be a ghost roomie to people, especially if I can communicate with them and vice versa. If I’m going to be stuck haunting the land of the living for an unspecified amount of time, I might as well make friends.

Maybe one of them will still be too scared of me and call and exorcist, and that will be that. But maybe not, who can say.

I'd want to scare the everloving fuck out of crappy people. It would be more fun to be the ghost of a whole town than just one spot, but I guess It'd be fun to haunt my local park, especially at Halloween; make all the kids scream!
