Agreed, honestly. I can't understand how people can disconnect from the fact that their celeb of choice is literally only near them because they've paid them amounts of money for it. It's not a Moment (TM), it's a transaction, and I just cannot get over that enough to believe there's anything genuine in it at all.

Yeah, you can really tell the difference between the actors who genuinely care about their fans and the ones who are just treating it as a transaction.

As an example, I was once in the autograph line for a fairly big-name voice actor at a con. The autograph time was almost over and the actor had to leave to go to a panel he was hosting, but there were still a bunch of us in the line who hadn't had the chance to get his autograph yet. So you know what he did? He sent the con staff down the line to write down everyone's name so that they could come back and be at the start of the line at his next autograph session because he didn't want anyone to miss out after they'd been waiting for so long. That's someone who really, truly cares about their fans.
