I agree that it was wanky on all sides, and I'm sorry to keep talking about it, but this is kind of the central point that I am trying to make here: "Korra is a lesbian" was not the position that people on that people were actually digging a moat around in the first place, they were digging a moat around "Korra could be a lesbian". I'm honestly sorry to keep hammering on this, but I feel like it's a really important distinction, because if the initial point was that Korra was definitely a lesbian, that plays into the whole idea that it was biphobic. And I really wish people wouldn't portray it that way.

The secret itself said Korra /was/ a lesbian. The OP of the thread that devolved disagreed. That was the start. "Could be" came later.

I guess I interpreted the secret a lot more charitably than most other people are willing to. I figured that it was the secret OP's headcanon, and even if they did think Korra was lesbian, well, that's just their interpretation of canon. It wasn't necessary to come rolling in to immediately accuse them of erasure.
