(Anonymous) 2022-11-02 02:16 pm (UTC)(link)For me it's always beeen like this since I was 10-11 years old and watched my first real horror movie. Strangely enough for me it was like finally finding someone else that "understood me". Horror movies make me feel like seen and comforted. Like there are other people out there that get what life and dreams (or nightmares) are for me.
Some of my main comfort watches are: hellraiser, martyrs, the thing, the fly (the movie that first sparked my love for horror movies) testuo, hostel and ichi the killer.
I'm also a huge fan of bloody slashers with mindless plots and stupid characters. The new Texas Chainsaw Massacre? LOVED IT UHM.
I don't usually volunteer this information. I've tried "coming out" as an horror fans through the years and I've had some pretty nasty reactions. Usually I'm like YEAH I like horror movies, like... [insert very famous mild horror movie here]
