I’m really curious what this is. I’m used to kids appearing in the final episode, not during the course of the story.

Oh dude one of the things I HATE for my ships in canon is for them to become parents during the airing of it, like it actively puts me off because then their story revolves entirely around the child. I do get why as irl parents are mostly focused on their kids, but I do not want to watch that, it's boring as shit to me. Like the rest of the fandom will be like 'omg I want to see them get married and have kids!!' and I'm sat there going 'you are all wrong', the getting married part I won't mind depending on the couple, but the kids part? Not unless it's at the very, VERY end where I don't have to watch more than 5 mins of it.

Well, this is one of the things (a kid) that utterly killed the teeny-tiny desire i had to go and rewatch Bones, so....I feel ya, OP.

Unless the whole point of the show is 'they are a family', having a kid come along pretty much always ruins a 'ship or a show. (And frankly, having kids in the mix is usually pretty fucking boring even if they're kind of the point, since they make every either act like idiots or so hard-core tropey it's unreal).

It really bugs me when either it's very OOC for a specific character to have a kid or when a show revolves way too much around the kid to the point where it changes the whole feel of the show and what it was about in the first place.

It’s ok that there are bigger things to worry about. This is Fandom Secrets, not “What is the worst problem facing the world today?”

I have so few canon ships that I can only think of one that had a kid. And it was ok, because the show didn’t become all about the kid. I get where this is frustrating.
