AYRT

(Anonymous) 2022-11-03 06:22 am (UTC)(link)The point isn’t Tamaki. The point is, this is an anime that revolves around people growing up and maturing, out of their sexist gendered notions even. Most main characters are queerphobic at the beginning. But if you can’t accept characters’ flaws (which they grow out of) as endearing, and it is not just a “ew lesbians” double standard, then maybe the anime isn’t for you since most characters if not all have preconceived sexist notions at the beginning.
The fic, as far as I can remember is seldom OOC or has any bad takes in regards to Tamaki’s character. He is as comically flawed blind and silly as he is in canon.
(There are a few transfeminist hot takes in regards to his character too Irc but nowhere as bad. Very passable.)
Back to the point: Stop trying to find excuses or blaming the author of the canon as in boohoo I dislike Lobelia because of them. Of course as side characters who appear in two chapters at most they are going to be shallow unlike the MAIN characters, what do you expect? But they’re never men-hating or even canon lesbians is all I had to say. Just look at the canon. You don’t have to like them, but in order to be faithful to the canon one has to look at it.
