I have no advice, but based on the word "brainrot" I'm going to guess the fandom is OFMD.

Also first thought of OFMD, and that the reason might be that the ship in question is canon

I just thought of "brainrot" because the word is commonly used in the fandom.

I immediately thought Tiger & Bunny because that's the only fandom I've seen it used in... but I'm not in OFMD (yet).

So okay apparently that ISN'T just this fandom, lol.

I've seen it in a few places - I thought it was a universal fandom phrase?

Same. I don’t associate it with any one particular fandom. And I’ve seen authors and artists from many fandoms use it.

Definitely not universal, but maybe just... certain subsets of fandom, or something? Because I really only have just heard it in that one fandom, but it could be because all my fandoms are older (and so is T&B, but a lot of new folks got into it when season 2 started up earlier this year so.... fresh blood)
