Ugh, that sounds frustrating. I don't write smut but I get wanting to write stuff and even getting started on stuff that doesn't go where I want it or even anywhere at all.

I don't have solutions, but for the moment, I just write outlines/summaries for stuff I'm not ready to take to fic yet. I may or may not get to it, or maybe I can just get it out of my head to make room for the next idea.

Hope you can break through this block soon, OP.

Agh, that sounds so frustrating! I'm sorry, OP. I've been there and it's not a fun feeling. Sometimes listening to music and reading my favorite romantic scenes helps with the block. Other times I just have to keep writing and getting aggravated at myself until I have some kind of breakthrough. Good luck!

This is possibly extremely obvious, but have you tried looking at a list of fanfic tropes and asking yourself, "If I were going to write this trope for my OTP, how would I do it?"

That's where a ton of my ideas come from. "If I were going to write Fuck Or Die / Sex Pollen / Body Swap / Only One Bed / Fake Dating / For Science / Jealousy / Accidental Voyeurism / Whatever-other-tropes-you-can-think-of, for [specific ship], how would I do it?"

And like, if you want to get to the smut really quickly with minimal set-up, then just focus on tropes that are catered to that purpose, you know?

I have no advice, but based on the word "brainrot" I'm going to guess the fandom is OFMD.

I immediately thought Tiger & Bunny because that's the only fandom I've seen it used in... but I'm not in OFMD (yet).

So okay apparently that ISN'T just this fandom, lol.

Same. I don’t associate it with any one particular fandom. And I’ve seen authors and artists from many fandoms use it.

Definitely not universal, but maybe just... certain subsets of fandom, or something? Because I really only have just heard it in that one fandom, but it could be because all my fandoms are older (and so is T&B, but a lot of new folks got into it when season 2 started up earlier this year so.... fresh blood)

Not anywhere as prolific writer as you, but I find I'm not as interested in planning fic for a pairing if what I want out of the pairing is basically fulfilled in canon. Big example is if the ship itself is canon, or otherwise the relationship arc between the characters is completed in a satisfying and detailed way in canon.

Oww. That's weird but right now... well, I have never been good at writing smut but I do try my hand at the occasional non-smut fluff fic and am going through exactly this with my OTP at the moment (or rather for the past 2 years).
So even though I love them so much that I can write a 5k manifesto on the spot with every shared moment of theirs and how they grind my gears I can't write fic at all and maybe it IS exactly because I expect so much of my perfect beloved couple that I don't feel like my writing is good enough to do them justice lol.
