I don't think it's a Gen Z thing. I was on fandom!secrets back when it lived on LJ, and one of the most contentious recurring topics involved secrets with the general frame of "if you do X, I judge you." Or "I can understand X, but if you do Y, I'm side-eyeing that so hard."

A lot of those opinions seemed sexual, inappropriate, and petty to me. There seemed to be a concerted effort to try to shift the community agreement away from Your Kink Is Not My Kink, And That's Okay.

Some people in fandom seemed very driven to try to convince everyone else that their amount of prejudice was the IDEAL amount of prejudice. And that it was against the right things. And they certainly weren't "kids these days."
