I don't know this game either, but I can relate to feeling like you want a lot more meta than you're finding, in a particular fandom. There's times when porn has been my fallback, because there's usually still some plot and I get to see other people's take on the characters in more depth than the formulaic praise in (inarticulate, short-form) squee.

Because you mentioned Diluc, I ran into this exact issue in relation to Genshin Impact recently. If you know of anywhere people go to write long essays about Enjou (for example), instead of calling him a himbo and gushing briefly about the hot, I would like to know that.

AYRT - Hey, it's nice to know I am not alone in this boat! It's exactly this. Like, the porn IS hot, but I get the thrill of meta-ing and it's just not happening in some fandoms which are all "the porn is hot!!!!!!!" .

Oh, absolutely do. My go-to community is Genshin_Lore on Reddit (where you will find... extensive lore thesis on literally any character), but I do follow some accounts on Twitter for that exact purpose (though some haven't been active recently... windflowerlia is one of my faves :D !) and I recently created my own Tumblr blog to gush about the Han and Xing families (...again, their latest heir is pretty hot but HAVE YOU READ THE LORE?!?!?) talk about lore so maybe expect that.

You are definitely not alone. It's one of the complaints I've heard over and over in relation to so much of fandom being on Tumblr - most accounts there post short things and there often aren't equivalents to "this fandom has a library that everyone knows to hit up if they want essays of meta." If people *do* expound, they often do that in personal fanblog posts, and finding the things can be hard depending on stuff like whether the user is shy about tagging. Some fandoms get lucky, just because of who's in them - I remember Death Note has meta on Tumblr, for instance. And some fandoms are set because of their sheer age and size: Star Wars will not lack for articulate essay-writers. But one problem I haven't seen discussed much is that, if what you want to read is under a "read more" and it was posted by a deleted account, no matter how often the post was reblogged, the substance of it is gone. This disproportionately affects meta. And Tumblr is secretive about whether a user deleted their account or the platform shut it down without their input. I see fandoms there that have gone dormant, and a lot of content is gone because the fanblogs and RP blogs that posted it are gone.

Thank you for the recommendations, r/Genshin_Lore in particular looks fantastic. And if you feel like linking to your blog, would go. Would read. But I can understand if you're like, "gah, nooo."
