I want to be clear that Glee wasn't telegraphing and should never be thought to have telegraphed a single thing. That was a fandom-led show, sometimes with and sometimes against, as soon as the fandom reached critical mass. Ryan Murphy and then his other showrrunners took suggestions from fandom when they liked them and sometimes deliberately frustrated fandom when they were annoyed by fandom's entitled nature and that's it. Ryan Murphy is not a planner.

That said...lbr this season is for the Testaments and I wouldn't consider that telegraphed either.

I agree about Kylo Ren though and I still am a hater, in fact that was part of my annoyance.

They were never going to leave Karofsky in the closet and alone like that

They should have made that canon but they didn’t

Why should they have made that canon? I don’t agree with that at all. I think Kurt deserves better than that, and he got that with Blaine. He definitely deserved better than to ever even entertain the notion of getting with his bully, whether he was reformed or not. I can sympathize with a scared closeted teenager lashing out at people, and recognize that fear of being ostracized and being the target of bullying yourself can lead vulnerable people to commit bad actions and make bad decisions in moments of weakness. But that still doesn’t mean I personally want him and his victim to be canon; or that it excuses him bullying Kurt. It’s fine as a ship. But I feel like it was best they didn’t have Kurt reciprocate in the actual show.

Because it would have been interesting.

And Rachel married Jesse after he smashed an egg on her head.

It would have been “interesting” for all the wrong reasons, because most people would have been interested in why they made such a bad decision to make this horrible couple canon.

And most people hated that Rachel married Jesse, so that’s not a gotcha.

No, just no. Ships where a victim and their bully are together should never be canon. Redemption for a bully, fine, if it is earned. But their victim is still going to have the trauma from what they went through.

Exactly this.

Helga and Arnold tho

I'm not a fan of the idea of them being canon either, but this whole "should never" business seems pretty moralizing considering we are still talking about fiction.

Kurt had zero good options and that includes Karofsky...and Blaine.
