I actually got one for a different OTP of about 10 years before this one, because I randomly happened across a gemstone combo on a pair of rings and went "...wait a second..." and then went looking for a single ring with those stones until I found one that just seemed right. I've had it for a couple weeks now and am honestly pleased every time I look down at my hand. It's like fandom swag that only *I* recognize as fandom swag, and everyone else just sees as nice jewelry. (The fact that the moonstone is slightly larger than the amethyst makes it PERFECT for the two characters in question. :D)

So that one was convenient... The one for my 20+ year OTP was a little harder to track down, since a ring didn't just appear before me with the right combo of gemstones. I wound up finding an Etsy seller with "mother's rings", designed to be customized with birthstones of your children, and they even do a custom inscription by each stone. I did something a little unconventional with that and am really hoping they got it right. (If not, I got the cheap version, heh.)

AYRT - Ohhh. This is so, so pretty, good job.

Personally I am VERY interested in subtle fandom references, and even more so in fandom-inspired jewelry (man, I would SO buy from fancreators if I could afford it. Closest I ever got was a bangle with gemstones to look like FFVII materia lol) and getting a ring to avoid sexual advances is something that's been on my mind recently thanks to r/asexuality so I really wanted to find some inspiration.

Thank you! And also this reminds me that now that I can sometimes wear jewelry again (illness -> sensory issue spike) I should order that black ring... a friend of mine has one and every time I see it I'm kind of jealous, hahah.

And yesss fandom jewelry is so much fun! I made a few sets some time back based on Final Fantasy summons (Shiva and Ifrit), and a bracelet that reminds me of a tonberry... ;) And my ex made me a necklace that is a direct reference to a single stupid joke between a couple manga characters we RPed, and no one else knows why it makes me laugh that I'm wearing a (fake) fossilized trilobite... Honestly I cherish this kind of thing WAY more than expensive designer jewelry that is noteworthy only because it's expensive and designed by someone famous.

And hey, bangle with materia is actually canon armor so that seems like a good purchase! You'll be protected if you wander into an area with like Hell Houses or something. :D

AYRT - Ohh, that's nice. Agreed that fandom jewelry is way better than expensive famous designer jewelry (tm). Oh wow, fun, and Shiva and Ifrit inspired sets sound amazing!! You know I do love wearing my materia bangle with black nails because it makes me feel a lot more powerful than I actually am as a person lmao. Back then (this was a few years ago, before FFVIIR) I went through many listings until I found bracelets that looked similar to canon ones and ended up with so many ideas I was even considering reselling them for a while. Now there's an official Silver Bangle, ... available for $249 whoops.
