I'm the other way round: I don't get how people can do nothing but watch the screen. Don't they get bored?

I can't watch any movies anymore without having to cut them into several shorter parts and, even for TV-shows, I find it pretty hard to watch an entire episode if I'm not eating / knitting / playing the switch, etc.

And I know I don't really have an attention span issue since I can still read really long books in one setting when I have time or play games for hours.

And (like OP) this is also my big problem with watching stuff with subtitles: I can't second-screen.

I just really don't ultimately care that much about TV and movies I guess.

IDK, I mean, from an American perspective, Iraq's been effectively over for a decade, and America was even able to withdraw from Afghanistan, so military adventurism and jingoism feels like it's not quite as much of a live issue as it has been at other times in the past.
