Well, I thought what was going on with Equivalent Exchange is that he wants some souvenirs from Mondstadt to take with him, because he's being recalled to Fatui HQ after the Harbinger assigned to the city kicked it. And then the next time you can run into him, he's been reassigned to [spoiler redacted]. But I realized after I wrote this that I might be getting EE confused with the next quest where he asks you to act as ago-between so he can buy a goodbye-gift for Lily, that one little girl who doesn't shun him, much to the alarm of her parents.

*pokes Genshin wiki* Yeah, in fact. I was getting it confused with Return To Days Of Winter. In this one, he thinks he's going to be sent back soon and uncomfortable because the locals have gotten a lot more hostile to the Fatui, and in the next one, he actually knows when he's leaving.

Funny thing is, I'm pretty sure I played through all his quests including the one where he's leaving and I just got the Tales of Winter daily again a few days ago. I know he's supposed to pop up in Sumeru next because a friend had his daily there already but it seems at least for me, the quest lines has been reset with one of the updates... huh.

Oh, that is weird. I've heard that the Gourmet whatevers cooking quest that's specific to Sumeru doesn't drop until you re-do it once in Inazuma. Even if you've already done it and gotten the achievement over there. But I didn't know Viktor could turn up in Mondstadt to offer his RNG assignment after he'd left.

... The Gourmet thing explains a lot. Ugh, now I have do set the dailies to Inazuma again and hope I'll get that damn quest again (and get 50 Shades of Inazuma Fashion instead). I don't li~ke Inazuma dailies...
