Is he a fan casting fave? I've heard a lot of bitching about the casting, but I don't recall any actual names being thrown around. Most of the bitching has been from the usual suspects over the casting of Death, as far as I've seen.

Yeah if you want to talk about him as a Welsh national myth that probably makes sense

although IMO even from that point of view, it's not 100% clear, bc the earliest mentions of the figure are from Welsh sources sure, but the actual matter of the Arthur mythos doesn't necessarily come from those sources. it comes from later writers expanding on those references - and those later writers weren't really Welsh. but, still, the ultimate source of those myths is definitely Welsh.
