If you see it as more of "what we couldn't get to in the movie" then I think it works for a lot of people who wanted more in the movie. which is a lot of people.

it works for me because I'm endlessly fascinated with group recruitment and retaining group cohesion, and stories about fascism have a lot of thoughts on that!
