Re: How are people feeling about AI bots and AO3?

Fandom has managed to humiliate and stop companies that try to make money off what was never theirs in the past. And the AO3 employs lawyers. If bots manage to make a nuisance of themselves or whatever, I expect fandom to have the means to turn that into a huge scandal, or the AO3 to get judges and courts involved. Or both.

On a related note, who remembers the "United breaks guitars" song?

There's not much AO3 can do, as bot scraping is completely legal. Publicly available websites have no grounds to stop it.
