I highly doubt that Nigeria could donate enough money to address the issue. On the whole African countries are still quite poor by global standards and many African countries are also dealing with serious debt problems especially given the current global rise in interest rates.

You are at least a decade out of date on Nigeria and a lot of Africa these days. There are still places where there is a lot of poverty, true, but there are a great many homegrown billionaires in Africa now too.

I honestly don't get this secret. This OP has a problem with people giving money or creating fundraisers to support people in a particular crisis that is currently happening because those people should have to handle it all themselves?

What's wrong with helping this particular crisis. And that other one over there in a different country. And any crisis currently happening? What's wrong with being decent, generous people and caring for those who are currently struggling?

Am I missing something? I don't get this at all.
