I super relate to this!
Dragon Ball was my first manga, bought at 9 years old in 1996 (JESUS). I still reread it every year. Mostly skimming, but still, the warm feelings is still there. :)
BTW IMHO it's still one of the best shounen manga of all time. It's simple in its structure, but it has very compelling and memorable characters.
And it has Bulma! One of the best female characters in all animanga.
