I don't think the scriptwriter thought she was "the ideal of womanhood".

Because we do, in fact, see several different kinds of women, all successful in their way, most of whom get happy endings. A Lady of War. An unscrupulous shopkeeper. Someone who's juggling her crush vs. her basic sense of fairness and who

ends up telling the guy she *likes* that they're xiongdi (buddies) from now on and she's going to focus on her career.

Don't get me wrong, Little Orchid is *incredibly* squeaky. She exemplifies one half of an extremely tropey kind of romantic arc - the flimsy, fragile little girl who brings a demon lord to his knees simply by virtue of her sincerity and goodness. It's, you know, it's extremely id-tastic and thus kind of a draw? A lot of romance arcs are id-tastic one way or another.

But the script-writer is not, at any point, telling us that this is the only way women could, or should, be.

Okay?

Yeah, I really wish that wasn't such a common tactic to have the actors pitch their voice in a childish way to make the character be 'cute' and 'appealing' in cdramas. I liked her voice when she was acting as the demon king.

Oh, that was *magnificent* when she was the demon king. (All the body-swapping was amazing tbh)

It was! I really enjoyed their performance, and it seemed like the actors enjoyed their roleswap or at least had a lot of enthusiasm to their approach.

Is it her own voice or is she dubbed? I know it's a common thing in cdramas and I'm pretty sure Dylan Wang's lines are dubbed. (Still super annoying either way, though.)
