It is my BIGGEST marvel NoTP, I hate it so much. I think if I hadn't come from comics, their mcu dynamic would have appealed to me, but I just can't roll that way and the overwhelming popularity just turns me off even more.

As someone who hasn't read the comics, are they not friends in the comics? I figure they aren't as close given that it sounds like Steve and Tony are best friends in the comics. But they were still friends at least in their original time, right?

I think fannish parents are far better off putting fannish names as a middle name. Then the kid can disavow it if they want to or embrace it if they want to, but no one else really has to know.

I haven't seen the sequel yet, but I thought they were so cute in the first movie. A lot of my friends dunked on the fact that Nancy ran off with a guy she had known for like an hour, but like, it's a Disney fairytale movie. They look nice together and they both deserved a happy ending. (Also IIRC there were one or two deleted scenes showing Nancy was secretly a Big Hopeless Romantic who actually did want a Prince Charming-type, so it makes more sense that she would go for Edward.)

yeah. I don't mind this new movie, concept-wise at least. Gisele having to parent and socialize and not knowing how to do that without relying on fairy tale tropes? hilarious. but I really do hope that one day they focus on the Nancy and Edward. Marsden is so good when you let him be ridiculous.

At first I hated his redesign but it's growing on me and looks pretty good in motion. I've warmed up to the art style for the film too.

I don't mind this ship at all, and I do think the movies suggest an intense two-sided investment *shrug* which is why even EYE a MCU!Steve hater don't understand why they decided steve would just put this bucky in a position to adjust alone. I also think Stucky fic goes through all sorts of different dynamics. So I'm not really with your perspective OP.

But I am enjoying Bucky/Sam whenever I find it and I'm glad one of my favorite fic writers started writing little vignettes.
