You know, now that I think about it, I think you're right. I'm racking my brains and most of the female villains from Western media I can think of are villains because something was done TO them and they want revenge. It's more... passive villainy, if that makes sense? There aren't too many female villains who are villainous just because they're ambitious and want power.

One of the only recent ones I can think of is the bad lady from the shitty Netflix Resident Evil live action series, she just wants money and power and was one of the two characters I liked in the show because she was actually fun to watch.

But yeah it’s hard to think of many female villains like this.
