I honestly don't understand how people fall for shit like that. I mean, stop and think about it for a moment: if any of those things actually worked the way the people selling them claimed, then no one would have cancer or depression or any of the things they supposedly cure because word would get around and everyone would be using them to cure those things!

Because meds don't work for everyone, or sometimes there isn't any medicine even available. So people get desperate.

Not the least bit interested in picking a fight, but you know, nobody would be depressed if SSRI worked the way some people talk about them either.

There's no miracle panacea as of now. My approach is more "if it works, it works" personally. And I don't see why some people are so quick to advocate against so-called "pseudoscience" and herbal therapy unless, of course, they're profiting off SSRIs lol. Similarly to how I don't think anyone would be pro MLM schemes unless they are actively profiting from them.

Ahhh, yes, here we go. Of course people who don't believe in essential oils are probably working for Big Pharma! That must be it. Not because they object to anything that has a whiff of snake oil. Comparing it to being pro-MLM wasn't quite the masterful touch you seem to think it was because most people in this thread understand what a scam MLMs are and they know that your analogy is a very bad faith one.

Uh, because there's exactly zero science behind them? Look, anyone can make up any claims about their magical herbal supplements, but if you can't provide a single shred of proof that they do what you're claiming they do, then no, people shouldn't believe them.

It's not "magical herbal supplements" for the most part. Much of what's been used for centuries and still is has been scientifically proven at some point, or at the very least not disproven. This is why I told the anon "just search on Google Schoolar it's not that hard" - just type something like "bergamot anxiety" there and you'll see. It's hard to say a lot without disclosing personal information regarding my diagnosis and so on.

Again, I don't know anything about this American MLM scheme company that apparently sells adulterated oils. But oils should work for some people.

Except there needs to be a LOT of research (and finantial interests very often - one can't patent a plant) before it can be called "medicine" at last. There is no shortage of scientific articles on many herbs though, sigh.
