So true, anon.

What's even worse, the "what computer programs do you use?" thread made me realize that it's not just media like TV shows, it's happening to programs too. My answers were "word, paint, notepad" hell if I would've accepted anything like that 15 years ago. But nowadays you can't just get (purchase or download) a program and be happy, often you have to pay a subscription and once the current version is gone it's gone, feels like going backwards in that sense. Don't even get me started on my regrets over not downloading more, not hoarding even more files, etc.
