How has it been lately? Any plans for the coming holidays?

Family shit as usual. Everyone just makes it so hard to coordinate things. And my sister had the audacity to ask if I wanted to watch her kids on my weekend birthday. Like, WTF.

That does take a lot of nerve. I hope your holidays go well though.

It's going ok. I'm working Christmas but I don't celebrate Christmas and I get time-and-a-half so I'm good with that.

The Yuletide fanfiction exchange fics get revealed then though and I'm nervous how mine will be received. This is after I took about a two-year hiatus from writing fanfiction.

I got my Christmas nails done today, they're very similar to these in color and shape but not quite as long:

They just make me happy to look at, lol so sparkly! I think I was a magpie in a past life.

I love petit fours and marzipan fruit at Christmas so I bought some online and they came today, and they're almost too beautiful to eat, but they're delicious.

Oooh, pretty!! I love doing my nails, and that's a beautiful color!

My husband's a mail carrier. This is not the most wonderful time of the year for him, though it must be said that many of his customers are very kind and give him nice gifts.

Our nearest relatives are about 400 mi away so it's just us this Christmas. It'll be a day of rest.

If you don't mind my asking, what kind of gifts does your husband enjoy the most? (Looking for ideas for my mail carrier.)

Oh yikes! My condolences to him. I worked a holiday season as a mail carrier (ended up on parcel duty due to getting a bad wrist injury a couple weeks before Thanksgiving), and I was surprised I remembered my own name towards the end of it.

On behalf of all decent people everywhere: thank you so much to your husband xx We have a rotating pool of carriers so I bought a whole stack of Amazon gift cards (the irony is not lost on me) and so far I’ve managed to give half our carriers their thank you cards. I’ll keep giving them out until I get everyone, even if that means doing it after New Years.

Tomorrow I’ll be hovering by the front window watching for the garbage and recycling trucks to make their way through. I always run theirs out to them since we have the lifting trucks so they’d either trash their own gifts or have to stop, park (very complicated on our steep hill), and then go get it and then get back to work.

Today was going horribly due to sick bunny and no vet appointments available until January, while stasis can kill a rabbit in under 24 hours...

But I was nursing her through with leftover meds from another rabbit's bout of stasis from this summer, and she at least looked comfortable, which I figured might be the best I could do... then I went and checked private messages and long story short it looks like I have a room for MAGFest...

And once I got done discussing that I went to feed pets, and while Sage still isn't interested in her regular food, she DID eagerly lunge at and devour a small piece of banana, so that's promising!

I hope your bunny gets better!

Been surprisingly busy at work for December, which is good, but a bunch of people are out on vacation, so it is a little hectic. Also, we've currently got a cold front. Supposed to freeze over tonight.

We're not really doing much this year, which I'm totally okay with honestly. I'm just looking forward to a few days of extra sleep and time with the kitty.

When I didn't get invited over to anybody's house I usually go to the movies and eat Chinese food but there aren't any movies playing around in the local theaters on Xmas this year that I actually want to see so I don't know what I'm going to do.

You can always rewatch House MD. :)

I am soooooo tired

So exhausted

Feeling Okay, could be better but there's also not enough reasons to complain. I will be spending Christmas away from my husband (we'll be with each of our families for reasons beyond our control) so neither of us is feeling particularly festive. Hopefully there won't be any petty drama with my folks that could implode the holiday but we will see.

Alright. I'm still trying to figure out what holiday baking I'm going to do so I can go to the store tomrrow for ingredients before the weather gets bad.

tired, not looking forward to spending Christmas Eve sleeping at my brother’s as I’ve probably spent most of the last month at home sleeping rather than awake

on the upside my new boss gave me a book on paranormal mysteries for Christmas from a conversation we had about a week ago when she asked me what podcasts I listen to. not even my own family remembers I like this kind of thing and as a grouchy Grinch I’m actually kind of touched

Our home repairs are now three months behind schedule :(

Worse, the painter is an annoying pathological liar who spends three hours telling BS stories about how perfect he is for every one hour of work he does. I want to tell the contractor to find someone else but 1) I’m too non confrontational for that and 2) I don’t think he has anyone else and if he did it would mean waiting for that person to become available.

Meh. I'm just tired of everything. Missed my window to ask for time off due to some IRL bullshit. Then I had to decline holiday visitors because I just want to be left the fuck alone and be able to relax on the weekend and I feel like a bastard for it even though I know it's my right to do so.

I managed to finish my Secret Santa and send, so there's that. But I'm not feeling much of anything else, even though I want so badly to finish all this fic that piled up. And then there's the general "world going to hell" situation that never quite leaves the mind. I don't even want to say "I just want some goddamn relief." I feel like it's past that, most of us have been getting screwed over for so long. The bullshit needs a full reverse... preferably on the assholes who got us in the bullshit in the first place.

terrible.
sick cat (again, another cystitis), my vets hours are terrible, no other vet i can reach by public transport have open appointments til january, had to make an appointment with the local mobile emergency vet, theyll come today to my house. So far my whole holiday bonus is going to vet bills

my sinusitis isn't improving, i haven sent out even half of my christmas packages, i havent done any food shopping for the weekend yet and between work and vet i have seriously no idea when to do that.

I've been tired as all fucking hell lately. Just so worn down by the world.
Tonight is my last night at work before a week-long break...and of course it has to start snowing with sub-zero temperatures so that my morning commute home will be hellish and slow and not make my cranky ass feel any better. My drive to work fucking sucked too, had to leave for work earlier than usual because of the fucking snow. Fuck the snow, dude. Fuck the stupid fucking timing of the weather with my work schedule. Like seriously fuck off world. I just want a simple fucking last fucking day at work. In, out, bye bitch.
BUT OF FUCKING COURSE fate or God or who the fuck ever intervenes and lines shit up in just the right miniscule ways to fucking piss me the fuck off has to be a fucking asshole and just MAKE IT THE WORST.
Some fucking stupid ass fucking bullshit is likely going to make things even more unnecessarily inconvenient and stupid and annoying. Fire alarm goes off for no fucking reason in the middle of work, some dumb bitch is going to fuck something up and I'm going to have to stay at work late to fix it, my car rolls into a ditch on the drive home. I don't fucking know. I'm just really, really feeling negative because I'm so fucking tired of work and the fucking work routine. And then to come home and be of service to yet more people. I just want to be able to sleep in my fucking bed and not fucking have to worry about getting the fuck up at some specific point.

If no one gets sick *knock wood* I'm gonna go to xmas eve dinner with my uncle, my aunt, and my aunt's family and in-laws. Aiming to make pie(s) and cookies in addition to requested roasted broccoli. May or may not make homemade stuffing and stuff a pumpkin (I'm vegetarian) because after years of aunt's inlaws being low carb, I miss having it for holidays.

And then probably waffle breakfast and presents with the roommate on xmas morning, followed by a nap. Naps/time for naps=best present.

I was with family out of town, because I prefer to spend the actual holidays with just my partner at home. Just got back home today. And I got sick :/ Sore and scratchy throat, fever, nausea, fatigue. Not fun.
