... but you wouldn't mind if someone else made them for you! As always, including the fandom and full character names is a big help, and I'll try my best to use an appropriate image choice. Just to clarify - it's my intention to make all the secrets left in this thread, so even if they're not marked claimed, they will be made.

I'll monitor this thread until tomorrow's secret post goes up, so feel free to leave your comments until then!

When a lot of people are critical about something I like I start to feel like maybe they're right that it's bad and I'm wrong in liking it.

I'm not even talking about people saying something is "problematic." That might make sense. I'm just talking about people saying that the characters are annoying or the plot is stupid - stuff like that.

Why can't I just like things and not be so incredibly insecure?

I bought a Disney's Haunted Mansion blanket because I thought the fancily dressed up male character on it was a hottie. Even imagined my own made-up stories for him to feature in. I still have no real idea who he actually is, but I imagined him to be a beleaguered person, the owner of a cursed mansion yet just as much in the mansion's possession in turn. Doing some cursory research, I think he might be a murderous person responsible for filling the mansion with ghosts of his victims actually??? Ah well. I'm still enjoying my blanket-induced story headcanon lore.

It really bugs me when people review media that depicts militaries without doing any research into how a military functions. Not even high level stuff. Think: the difference between officers and enlisted personal. Or how the Navy and Marine Corps are related. Or how the Army and Navy are different. Or how "guns" might mean artillery and not a side arm.

It's like reviewing ER or House MD without understanding the difference or relationship between nurses and doctors. I'm not an expert but I am sick of people acting like their ignorance is cute.

I submitted a secret a while ago (thank you, secret maker!) about how I was attracted both Justin and Pierre Trudeau. Well, that passion has come back with a vengeance ever since finding out that there was a plot to bomb a government center in Kyiv, Ukraine in the early days of the war, and that Justin Trudeau knew of the plot. So he flew to that government building to be with President Zelensky so if in the chance that the building blew up, his own sacrifice would get NATO to respond. How fucking hardcore is that?

bonus secret: Zelensky is a very short man, but is utterly inspiring and powerful. God bless.

An argument was had in the F!S comments makes me not want to return-- which sucks because I've liked F!S for years. But those commenters can't handle different opinions without calling everyone and their dog names, and can't handle being wrong. It feels like the beginning of the end for fandom and my time at F!S.

I find it shameful that the only Maneskin songs getting airplay are their English ones. Which are mostly good tbh, but their Italian ones are so much better.
Bonus secret: I hate Beggin and consider it their worst song ever recorded.

Before I saw Wakanda Forever I thought Rihanna's "Lift Me Up" was a Christmas song (I didn't really pay attention to the lyrics and english isn't my native tongue anyway). I still think it has the vibe of a Christmas song.

This year has really treated us with great shows that are adaptations or prequels (or midquels). Which is probably why Willow being so bad hurt this much. I was really looking forward to it and I wanted to like it, but... Out of all the shows accused of being soulless cashcrabs, this one actually fits. It's just dumb all around, especially everything about Elora Danan, the poor girl deserved better. Even things I'd normally be excited about (diverse cast, main couple is queer) feel wasted on this show.

I mean, I get why it's happening, but I'm still annoyed at Galadriel/Sauron stuff taking over the fandom. I don't honestly care about them, I just wish I didn't have to scroll this much to get to my aesthetic gifs, dwarf appreciation and Numenor meta.

I never got to play Crisis Core and I’m super happy that it was rereleased on the Switch. The battle system takes a bit of getting used to but as a seasoned Kingdom Hearts player I got used to it.

it’s making me miss old RP partners that I haven’t seen or spoken to in six or seven years since I quit RPing. Luckily I have our logs saved but it’s not the same :(

Fandom: MCU Thunderbolts (Bucky/Yelena)

This movie isn't going to be out for over a year-and-a-half and already there's tiresome, obnoxious shipping discourse over this pairing about why it's Bad, shouldn't happen in the movie and no one should ship it. I am so fucking tired of this crap, and it seems to be starting earlier and earlier. Why can't people just enjoy the movie for what it is, and let other people ship what they like?

I wish that critics and fandom acknowledged that some stuff is "fine" and it's fine that it exists. Some actors are below average but they're not actually terrible. Some actors are barely above average, but them not being genius doesn't make them terrible either. Some shows have great moments but boring plots and uninspiring acting. unless there were zero things that you enjoyed, soulless stuff is likely just average stuff expensively made. That doesn't mean that it's a travesty a corporation made it. I think a lot of people sound spoiled.

I don't like breath of the wild. I don't mind a departure from the zelda formula necessarily, but I dislike the direction it took. And I feel kind of judgey of people who have only played it without even bothering to play any of the other games. I’m not a jerk about it. I’d obviously never say this to anyone’s face. I just wanted to vent. I hope tears of the kingdom is a better experience for me.

I think Bedknobs and Broomsticks is a great movie.

But with the semi-sentient moving armour, creepy opening music, and spooky visions of Eglantine on the railway tracks, it sits firmly in the horror genre for me. I genuinely have a low level fear of shoes in places they shouldn't be as a result of watching this movie.

Out of all Dream's lovers, Thessaly is the only one I loathe. She literally sells him out to his death for more years of life and forgiveness for her own crimes. And, you know, she's a terf.

But I'm not looking forward to the epic flood of Thessaly-hate that'll ensue because she's not Hob or a palatable reader insert, before even getting to the bit where she (and Destiny) say she never loved Dream and was instrumental in making sure he succeeded at stealth suicide-by-Furies.

And even though I am a hardcore Dreamling shipper, it bothers me that her cruelty and even the terf shit would garnish way less vitriol if Dream hadn't built her a wing of his palace, strolled through meadows with her whispering sweet nothings, been desperately in love with her, and probably fucked her on every reasonably flat surface before making it rain for weeks when she left him and then kicking off his death wish farewell tour in the vain hope of finding her again.

Like, she's a bigoted selfish opportunistic murderer who sold out her lover to his death*, that's worse than her being Dream's last canon love interest!

*Yeah I know he mostly set himself up for it, but still.

I'm glad I'm old enough now to find the Eurovision song contest entry song baffling because of my age and it being for the youngs, instead of finding it baffling just because it was crap. It has really taken the pressure off my level of judgement.
