I feel it in my soul. Sometimes I just stop liking favorite things a little even after rreading absolutely legitimate criticism that fandom people make. This is especially ironic since I can be critical af

Oh, legitimate criticism makes me feel way worse than stupid criticism. Because if they have a good point, then I know I'm wrong. I read an essay about how a character I related to a lot was really shallow and inconsistently written, and all of it was true. I was just too stupid to notice because I was too busy having feels about how they acted over their depression and self-loathing just like I did.

Yeeeeees. Stupid criticism you can laugh about. But when you get to "damn, they are right" it is so much more depressing. I do still think that every story and character has it's merits even if they are not perfect or even that good, but I still get a little bit sad
